Waited around 40 minutes on a Saturday 1pm. It's a small Chinese restaurant tucked in the corner. You only see Chinese people in there.. you know it's good. First time trying frog, ever. It came in a spicy soup with noodles, veggies. Frog is SO TENDER. It's almost like chicken but tender like fish.. really really yummy. They give a lot of portion. The dish with the mushroom was really good, and same with the fish. I would reorder those dishes.. just don't know the name. Reference picture! Parking is free lot parking.

Best spicy Chinese restaurant I've been to in the US in the last few years. Crazy portions (coming from SF), good presentation. Very spicy, very flavorful. The duck pot has so much duck, and so many ingredients, everything worked well together and added various texture and made the dish so fun. The texture of the liver and kidney was very tender. The stir fry beef also had great texture. Overall, very good meal. We arrived 5min before they opened and got seated right away, we got our food relatively fast, you can tell everything was cooked fresh.

This spot, tucked in a small plaza off Valley, is perfect for spicy food lovers. It's pretty packed on the weekends--I came on a Saturday and waited about an hour. Luckily, they let you join a waitlist and call when your table's ready. We were a party of three and ordered: Spicy Boiled Roast Duck: Roasted duck in a spicy mala soup it comes with veggies, duck blood, and noodles. Mala Dry Pot with Fatty Intestines: Crispy, numbing intestines mixed with veggies in a dry pot. Super flavorful and addictively spicy. Pickled Veggie Black Fish Fillet: A sour, salty broth with tender fish fillets and pickled veggies--a nice, tangy contrast to the heat. Everything was spicy and delicious, with massive portions perfect for leftovers. White rice is essential to balance the heat. The service was a bit rushed--when I asked for recommendations, the server just told me to check the menu. Overall, the food was pretty good with big portions, but next time, I might grab takeout to avoid the wait.

Szechuan Spicy Bay is the newest hottest szechuan spot! It's a small restaurant so be prepared for a wait but I'd recommend either coming when they open or coming later in the day to avoid the wait. What makes this restaurant stand out is the unique dishes, strong flavors and huge portions. I'd recommend the baked frog (it's HUGE) but has the best flavor of all the restaurants in this area. The fish stomach is something unique to this place and its spicy and crispy! one of my faves! and last the cabbage might look normal but it's cooked to perfection. Come visit if you want a true authentic szechuan experience.

Located in a big plaza with plenty of parking, this small but mighty shop is serving up some of the most authentic Szechuan food in the area. The orders came out quickly and the service was quick. The portions were massive and you will definitely need to go containers. Highly recommend for anyone in the mood for spicy food. Order: spicy roast duck, frog leg, eggplant and string beans, and laoganma rice Comments: small shop so might be a wait

Amazing authentic sichuan food! We got the stir fried intestines, spicy frog legs and spicy eggplant. I would definitely get the spicy frog legs again, the intestines were good but a bit oily. The food portions are ENORMOUS, like the photo does not do justice how large the items were. Those three items pretty much took up the entire table space. I usually go in, put my name and phone number down and walk through the nearby supermarket. By the time I'm done, i walk back to the restaurant and they have a time available, before they even call me to let me know.

Looking for authentic Sichuan Food? Look no longer. This IS the place. The only downside to this restaurant is how small it is. They take reservations, so definitely give them a call beforehand or you'll catch yourself waiting a looong time. Parking can be a teeny bit difficult since the plaza parking is shared amongst many stores. Service is attentive, but you have to be on top of it since it can get really busy. The food is on par to what I've had in China. The Mala Frog and Chengdu Spicy Duck are must orders. They are the stars of the show, and the presentation is also Instagram worthy. Very flavorful, spicy, etc (trust me and just order these 2 dishes at the very least). We also ordered the Spicy Fish Stomach, Mama Style Rice, House Special Cabbage, and a Fresh Chili with Ginger Black Fish Fillet. A few items on their menu, especially for foreigners, are a little hard to stomach, being frog, fish stomach, and intestines. But everything is worth a try. They are all very authentic dishes. They are also all very spicy, so this place definitely not for non spice tolerant people. The fish stomach is spicy, chewy, and a little crunchy; the Mama Style Rice is a good order since it re-calibrates your taste buds away from the spicy. The Cabbage is a sweet and salty stir fry, and while it could be something you could make at home, it just tastes better here. The fish fillet is very authentic, with the thinly sliced fish and plethora of spices. The portions, while they appear big in photos and presentation, are actually pretty small. The dishes are shallow, there is a little too much veggies compared to meats, and they pile the meat on top so there's virtually nothing but veggies and spices underneath. Don't get me started on charging $5 for a plate of noodles to add to dip in the spicy sauce. HOWEVER, if you can stomach the smaller, deceiving portions, the price premium for extremely authentic Sichuan cuisine has value written all over it! While Sichuan cuisine has its price premiums by being so popular, this restaurant definitely comes out ahead of the pack. It's my new go to Sichuan place in the whole of LA.
